Netherlands to host textile conference in Pakistan.
In a bid to strengthen its trade relations with Pakistan, the Netherlands would soon be hosting a textile conference in the country, said Ambassador of Netherlands to Pakistan Marcel de Vink during a recent meeting with Federal Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi in Islamabad.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Textile Industry, Mr. de Vink said during the meeting that Pakistan is a valuable trade partner for the Netherlands, and the country would extend every possible support in order to further strengthen these relations.
The textile conference would be held with the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), which is keen to work with Pakistan for development and implementation of compliance standards in the textile industry, he added.
The Ambassador informed that the Netherlands Minister for Trade and Development would also be participating in the event which would be held under the theme of ‘Pakistani Textile Sector in the International Arena’.
According to Mr. de Vink, the conference would provide an opportunity for textile industry stakeholders of both the countries to discuss areas of investments and cooperation, with the aim of increasing trade relations between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
On his part, Minister Afridi said that the textile industry is one of the most important sectors contributing towards the development of Pakistan’s economy, and the Government would fully extend its support in hosting the event.
